DESCRIPTION:Date: 29 October 2024 \n\n\n\nProgramming serves as a versatile tool for a wide range of endeavours\, including analyzing data\, manipulating data\, and automating tasks. Through this workshop\, you will learn the basics of programming and consider how it fits into your research project. These concepts aren’t exclusive to Python; they’re applicable to most programming languages\, making this workshop pertinent regardless of your chosen language. \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\n\nAcademic participant : 10$\n\n\n\nNon-academic participant : $200\n\n\n\n\nPrerequisites\n\n\n\n\nUnderstanding the notions of file and directory;\n\n\n\nUNX101 completion or knowledge of the basics of the Unix command line.\n\n\n\n\nCourse plan\n\n\n\n\nBasics\n\n\n\nData analysis\n\n\n\nVisualization\n\n\n\nLists\n\n\n\nRepeated operations\n\n\n\nConditional expressions\n\n\n\nFunctions\n\n\n\n\nInstructor\n\n\n\nCharles Coulombe\, analyst in advanced research computing at Calcul Québec. \n\n\n\nTechnical prerequisites\n\n\n\nWe will use the Zoom platform.
