3D Visualization With XR Technology

Format

in person/face-à-face

Event Language

février 16 All day

Have you ever wished you could stand in and study an imaginary or long-vanished space–from a work of literature or from a distant period in history, or perhaps a virtual creation of a famous thought experiment or a speculative model of something that doesn’t exist in the real world? 3D visualization can grant that wish.

This in-person workshop will provide an overview of 3D visualization using specific XR (Extended Reality) technologies, in addition to development tips in the Unity Game Engine. Participants will get hands-on demos with various XR technologies including the Looking Glass Volumetric Display, Quest 2, and various AR applications. In addition, participants will also get the opportunity to view 3D simulations in the TMU Library Immersion Studio, which is a 360 degree projection cylinder for shared VR experiences. Development tips will also be provided for each showcased technology. This workshop is aimed to help participants gain more exposure with XR technology and 3D visualization for education and research, and does not require any prior 3D development knowledge to attend the workshop.
