Citation analysis tools for mapping the literature

Event Language

English

Format

virtual/virtuel

February 6 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm

Citation analysis is a way of measuring the relative importance or impact of author, article, or publication, and explore links between them. Citation analysis can support the early stages of research by summarizing and mapping existing knowledge and research on a particular subject, and identifying gaps in the literature. It can also be used to assess the impact of your own work, such as for grant applications, or the trends, collaboration patterns, and domain structures of a field or research network. In this workshop, a variety of citation analysis and knowledge map tools, such as LitMaps, Connected Papers, and Inciteful, will be introduced to help you analyze and visualize the literature and citation relationships. Instructor: Lily Ren

By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to:

•            Understand the basics of citation analysis and its application in the research lifecycle

•            Build skills to search, analyze and visualize citation information from various sources

•            Gain hands-on practice to use citation analysis and knowledge maps tools
