Introduction to deep learning, NLP, and LLMs / Introduction à l’apprentissage profond et au traitement du langage

How does deep learning really work? What exactly are those large language models everybody talks about? How can I build a neural network? What is NLP?

This presentation will answer these questions in a non-technical manner to give you a high-level understanding of a discipline that has become crucial in all fields of research.

The goals are to:

• clarify concepts,
• present a range of tools available,
• give an overview of the field, and
• point out resources to get you started using DL, LLMs, or NLP for your research.

Comment fonctionne l’apprentissage profond? Que sont ces larges modèles du langage (LLM) dont tout le monde parle? Comment puis-je créer un réseau de neurones? Qu’est-ce que le NLP?

Cette présentation vous donnera les réponses à ces questions au moyen d’une vulgarisation de ces concepts d’une discipline désormais cruciale pour la recherche de tout domaine.
