Data is deposited into a repository towards the end of its lifecycle when it is ready for sharing and publication. Publishing your data in a trusted data repository can provide the necessary curation and storage conditions to key your data secure and ensure your data is discoverable to a wide audience. Increasingly, many journal publishers and funding programs encourage the sharing and depositing of research data in a recognized data repository.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to:
• Understand the guiding principles of data sharing and publishing
• Learn how to prepare your data for sharing and long-term preservation and access
• Access and select trusted data repositories including York’s generalist data repository York U Dataverse
It is recommended that registrants attend the RDM workshop “Create a Data Management Plan (DMP) for Your Research Project” prior.
