Tools for Digital Storytelling

Do you have a story idea but are not sure where to begin? Are you curious about how digital tools can support your creative process? In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will be introduced to digital tools and techniques for planning, designing, and creating interactive and potentially non-linear stories. We will explore the digital storytelling process and experiment with Twine, a free and open-source tool for telling interactive narratives. Participants will experiment with different approaches for brainstorming story ideas, apply visual design to support their storytelling, and develop their story into an interactive experience. Join this workshop to create your own digital story using Twine!

No previous experience with digital storytelling or Twine is necessary! This session is perfect for anyone who is interested in exploring digital tools as part of the creative process. You will have the opportunity to experiment, follow your ideas, and create a story along the way. 

Creativity is an open process and during this workshop we will explore together and see where it takes us! 

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Generate and organize story ideas using digital tools and creative approaches.
2. Develop a story structure that can incorporate interactive and non-linear pathways.
3. Create a digital story using Twine.
